    Yeah, the MPAA is incredibly stupid if they think they'll ever see a cent of the money.

    I don't think you get the whole point here. They are far from stupid...by demanding such high amounts of moneu they are sure the 'victims' will surely be out of bussiness and other possible 'victims' will think twice before they start-up or continue to maintain the same activities.
