ive been hearing mixed views of windows media player 9.
should i get it or stick with the old one?, and another thing is it true it wont unistall?

I have had no problem with v9 but yes it dosent uninstall you have to do it manually.

The choice is up to you. But if your running xp and you want to try it out........briefly.
Just set a system restore point and test a couple of movies on it and if you dont like the way it performs then just restore your computer back to the way it was.
This is provided you test it out for a couple of hours or a day at the most. System restore can be a pain in the ass if you try to restore your box back to the way you had it a week or two ago.

i personally think its the best one yet..
ive uninstalled quick time 6, bs player divx player and windvd 5 ...as wm9 plays all the formats
why clutter ya comp wif all those programs when one will do all the jobs

i tried it and had lots of problems with my music and movie files like there was big conflicts. I went to the microsoft site to find help and there was a lot of other people with similar problems. But My mate has it and i've used it and its all good.
The reason why there is no uninstall option cos they want everyone more up-to-date -cant remember where i read it

Does any 1 know a guide that tells u step by step how 2 removie WMP..

there was a way which involved the registry manually but i cant remember it. I also forgot to say that system restore didnt work for me i think i had to use go back or summat. Anyway, i still use wmp 8 and dont intend to upgrade

only get wmp9 if u got a 800mhz+ speed computer. My friend tried it on his 500mhz and said it was very slow.

Windows Media Player 9 is really good in my opinion. However, I liked the version that came with Windows XP (version 8) but I don't think you can download and install that version from their website. (i think it only comes with Windows XP) I would NOT go back to the 7 Series... it was bad... Stick with the 9 Series
