Are there any other processers that meet with today's standards for gaming, mutimedia etc. That are NOT made by companies called Intel or Advanced Micro Devices?

Ohh noo!!! I make dribbles!!!
Doesn't mac. have their own processor? I would like to know also
Only in a computer will I find happiness.
further down the page someone was discussing this. Not sure what the topic was, Maybe AMD vs Intel?
Cyrix is one I know of but I don't think it rates very high.
Cyrix processors, made by VIA, are an absolute joke.
There are no other real alterantives for x86-based computers, other than AMD and Intel.
My friend had a cyrix before,
Cyrix processer (unknown speed, guessing very slow)
32mb of ram
Windows 95
WOW! speeds of 1ghz +!!!!

As previously stated, Cyrix makes processors, but they are a joke,
or at least they did, (don't hold me to this) but I had heard they went belly up.
And Motorola makes processors as well, but they are PowerPC and work with the Apple Macs.
but they Macs are good systems for multimedia, graphics, and whatnots, but as far as gaming, don't expect much, Macs are not Gaming Systems.
