Can anyone give me any info or suggestions on modding my x-box 360.
are you trying to play burned games with it?
if so this site may help: http://www.360mods.net/News/catid=1.html
I am wanting to mod it but i heard rumors that if u get caught online with a modded system than u can get banned from the the online?
there is a firmware called ixtreme which will only play burned 360games that have been stealth patched. Stealth patched burned games are hard for microsoft to detect but some people were detected when they played the region free scene realease of halo 3. If you are gonna play online, its usually best to play games from your region (NTSC or PAL) OR back up copies that you create that has been stealth patched. There is a program called xdvd mulleter that makes sure the 360 game is flashed. As far as i know, microsoft has no way so far to detect that your dvd drive has been flashed with a hacked firmware (the later versions not the earlier ones).
I use ixtreme 1.41 for my xbox 360 benq drive.

No one really knows how Microsoft detect modded machines, your best bet is to do what formula1 said, use the ixtreme firmware.
Its more of them detecting a certain value when its ripped. If the value hits (i think its 360, cant remember) its a bad rip. Theyve fixed this with current ripping methods.
Check to see which dvd-rom you have and post back here. Ill give u a step by step process of modding it.
If he flashes using the latest iXtreme (1.4 and up) then it doesn't matter whether or not there are "bad kreon rips" (what Singaboiy is referring to)
What is ur Lot Number or Manufacturer Date of console?
There is one version of Hitachi-LG that requires a chip to be soldered on, this is the one with 79 firmware. You can find out the firmware version by actually opening the console and reading the info on the dvd-drive or you can sort of guess what firmware version you have through the Lot Number or MFR date.
MRF Date:2008-02-15
But is there an alternitive than soldering in chips if posible like a soft mod?
