I Want To Format My Computer

Hi,
I have windows xp and I want to format my computer. I put my windows 98 startup disk and the comand prompt goes on my screen.
I type D: and than format d: and it dosent go!!!

What should I do?

If your HD has been formatted for NTFS, the 98 boot disk will not work (fat32 works). If you boot from the XP cd, you can format the HD before installing XP.

ull need to use FDisk to reformat 2 FAT32

make a bootdisk with command.com and FDisk an after booting, just use FDisk
