I think this is not only the best "superhero/comicbook" movie yet but it rises above the genre and is a great movie by any standard.
    Heath Ledger is remarkable.

Jack just plays himself in every movie, including the original Batman.

The Dark Knight was great, no way to top themselves after this, no third movie most likely.

Ok guys , let's say that it's a great movie... bla bla , but in case to compare it with a legends movies like : Godfather , Shwawshank Redemption.... i think that's completely unfair , i mean we can't compare the movies of superheros and adventure with movies has a humain sens , a truth we can find it in our lifes

Yes you can and in this case, you should.
The Dark Knight is the first of it's genre to take itself seriously and rise above the "cool toys and impressive CGI- what else do you want?" mentality of superhero films to date.

I have no problem comparing Batman to The Godfather (we'll agree to exclude Godfather III, yes?)- and I don't like Shawshank, but we needn't go there- because I think they are both epically entertaining.

@JustDOSE: I dont agree. Jack Nicholson wasn't as good as Leadger (new Joker)
Nicholson is a crazy actor for sure, but in the batman-joker-role he was a little bit tooo funny and even tooo ridicolous. Leadger didn't play the funny but scary clown for birthday-party, but the ultimate scary psychopath, even for batman is hard to deal with ;-)
