The worm attempts to download the DCOM RPC patch from Microsoft's Windows Update Web site, install it, and then reboot the computer.

The worm will also attempt to remove W32.Blaster.Worm.

the way microsoft have been acting since the blaster worm came out makes me think that they could have

The worm checks for active machines to infect by sending an ICMP echo, or PING, which will results in increased ICMP traffic.

Well, atleast now I know whats been setting off my firewall....
have been getting alot of ICMP's and pings

holy crap iv just checked my firewall and since 11:19pm today untill now i have had 247 ICMP's and pings
