Wow. Her letter was scary. I joined VN following Brokenstones but I think I might have to ask to get my account deleted. Damn, had some good content too.

i dont quite understand how people have the balls to ask for DONATIONS if they dont funnel ALL of the money back into the tracker. if you live in the united states (maybe other countries too but im not sure) its is fucking ILLEGAL to accept donations without using them to improve your cause....not to mention the taxman will be knocking at your door if you show a profit for long enough that hasnt been used toward the cause (or site in this case)

she can always set herself up as a nonprofit organization and then give herself a salary as an employee but even then she has to pay taxes on it.

benjamin franklin said it best "there are two things you can be sure of in life...death and taxes"

IRS gets on her ass and she is going to jail....and they will catch up with her, count on it.

at some point she claimed to be a 501c...3 or 4, she can't make up her mind. the IRS mandates that the exemption application and other relevant materials be available to the public, and if the organization fails to comply they will be fined $20/day (it's also unlimited days).

well, you can always go ask her for said forms, but don't hold your breath. (the IRS also has forms and addresses you can go file related to this..).

We are a legal and legitimate Tax Exempt Corporation. Any other site taking money of any kind for any reasons and not filing with the authorities needs to face the facts that p2p may not have ever put anyone in prison, but tax evasion has done so to the best of mice and men.

lol im not looking to turn her in. it's simply a concept that has baffled me over the last couple years. i think that most sites an geniune about donations and i honestly do believe that most donations go towards covering costs.

her cause, however, seems to be motivated strictly by turning a profit.

in the beginning people are motivated by the passion to change a pre-existing condition...but over time the introduction of profiteers is inevitable

she talks a good deal but in all of that i didnt find anything really worth reading. lol she probably thinks that she is the smartest thing to ever happen to this community too
