I download a film or tv-episode with as good quality as possible, but no dvd;s. Watch on my Pc with media player classic on a 24 inch lcd(widescreen). If the codec is dodgy I use VLC.
I recently also have used my Asus EEE 901, which works great when using Windows XP (the default Xandros linux was really bad for video for some reason).

Most of the time I just watch on my 15" MB Pro but if I have the time I'll burn to DVD and watch on the tv.
