darlin' tell me would you care to dance?
Like no one else had ever danced before
I can't explain what happened on that floor
But the music played
We held each other close
And we danced
Yeah, we danced
I don't wanna talk
About the things we've gone through
Though it's hurting me
Now it's history
I've played all my cards
And that's what you've done too
Nothing more to say
No more ace to play
The winner takes it all
The loser standing small
Beside the victory
That's her destiny
I was in your arms
Thinking I belonged there
I figured it made sense
Building me a fence
Building me a home
Thinking I'd be strong there
But I was a fool
Playing by the rules
The gods may throw a dice
Their minds as cold as ice
And someone way down here
Loses someone dear
The winner takes it all
The loser has to fall
It's simple and it's plain
Why should I complain.
But tell me does she kiss
Like I used to kiss you?
Does it feel the same
When she calls your name?
Somewhere deep inside
You must know I miss you
But what can I say
Rules must be obeyed
The judges will decide
The likes of me abide
Spectators of the show
Always staying low
The game is on again
A lover or a friend
A big thing or a small
The winner takes it all
I don't wanna talk
If it makes you feel sad
And I understand
You've come to shake my hand
I apologize
If it makes you feel bad
Seeing me so tense
No self-confidence
But you see
The winner takes it all
The winner takes it all...
awwwww....thanks sugar.Originally posted by titey@22 August 2003 - 18:26

So true. So true ...And I must add, women, your batteries can't mow lawn, fix your car or open the jam jars.
My batteries CAN'T mow the lawn, fix my car or open jam jars... I can quite easily do that myself. We're not all helpless little waifs, you know.
What does a woman want? I don't know about all of them, I can only speak for me.
1. To be loved unconditionally - even when I have PMS.
2. Trust - on both sides, to trust and be trusted. Honesty is a huge thing for me.
3. Respect - if you want it from me, you better be willing to give it as well - don't just expect it because you are "the man". And yes, I do know guys like this.
4. Affection - telling us you love us is only part of it. The little things - holding my hand walking down the street, brushing my hair for me while we watch a movie (and no, I'm not talking Steel Magnolias here, I hate that crap - give me a good horror or action movie anytime), offering to cook dinner once in a while, putting on some good music for me while I'm cleaning the house (and you can shove Celine Dion up your ass, I mean AC/DC or GNR!!!, bringing me a beer while we're watching the football or hockey game, sneaking up behind me and kissing the back of my neck... and hugs, lots of hugs. Not major things, but they do reinforce how you feel.
5. Understanding - you may not always understand "what we're on about" but the effort of listening is a very big deal - we're not always looking for a solution, but sometimes just a sounding board, or a shoulder to lean on. Compassion is the key.
I could go on for days about this... but those are the big ones.
@balamm - I've been burned badly by men too - I've been through hell and back because of men, but does that mean that I judge ALL men by this? No, not in the least. If I did, I'd call you all callous bastards and leave it at that.
EDIT: BTW - I meant American Football here... just to clarify.
