LOL, Thaaaaaanks. It'll be a week or so for now I'm just getting everything else and want to get the new build going. UPS JUST RANG MY BELL!!!! Yep the case is here already and most everything else is coming on Mon but I have to throw together another temp computer using my TT DH0102 case and I think the wolfie is coming out of retirement for the temp setup so I can prepare my build.

    Temp specs:

    Thermaltake DH-102
    8600 Wolfdale/q6600 as I can't decide
    GA-EP45-UD3R
    4gb ram
500gb HDD (prob an external too so my pirating isn't interrupted )
    SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4850CORSAIR 650TX

Not too shabby for a temp rig

OK so I got off my ass and found the camera. Here are some pics of the What I've been doing.

    Corsair Obsidian 800D
    2 x Swiftech MCP350 pumps
    1 x Black Ice Pro 120mm Radiator
1 X Black Ice GT Stealth 360 Radiator
    1 x XSPC Dual 5.25" Bay Res

    Swiftech MCW60 GPU block

    PrimoFlex Pro Tubing
I'm going with a white black thing. One loop will be white and the other black. I don't think I'll be using any UV lights this time, maybe just a few plain white lights to accent the inside of the case if any at all.

I'm still using my Q9550 chip, Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R, Corsair 620HX, and EVGA GTX 260 card, a little older but it works awesomely.

Now I didn't have the guts to sleeve my entire PSU so I have a 24 pin ATX extension cable I sleeved instead. I have to mention that you cannot see through the sleeving in real life only with the flash of the camera. I even bought some of that fancy MurderMod sleeving and it is GREAT stuff Really you can't see through it for 5hit!

    Also the 8 pin connector

A 4 pin power "double" connector I made

The LED's and wires from both of the pumps.

Something else I've been doing is spray painting stuff. I am going with a White/Black theme so I decided to take apart some of the fans and spray the blades white.

I also painted the DVD drives black on the parts that will be seen. You will notice I went with IDE drives so I would have more SATA headers available. AFAIK the interface won't affect the performance of a DVD drive.

    A little messy

Also as the back of the case is completely black I sprayed the IO panel

Now I want to attempt to cut the original heatsink for my EVGA GTX 260 so it can work with the swiftech block. I think it'll work I don't know if anyone has tries this before

I went with the obvious top mount placement for the 3.120 RAD with the 3 fans pulling air into the case, more on that later.

The other 120mm Rad I think I'm going to place on the bottom here.

Also that fan is pulling air in. The rear 140mm fan will be the only exhaust fan there to create positive air pressure inside the case.

Some Misc pics I have left over.

    Tubing

BEST THING EVER TO REMOVE THERMAL PASTE!!!

    The mess i work in

OK so what I'm not sure of it the White/Black tubing. Do you guys think I should go with one loop white and the other one black OR have black as the inlet tubes and white as the outlet tubes?

Here is my idea for the airflow inside the case. i think the idea is sound what do you guys think?

    Whaddya think!?

I think your pics are too damn big and my index finger is tired of scrolling.

Yeah I know. Imageshack didn't resize them for some reason. If you wait a sec the site will make them smaller and have a bar above it saying " This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image"

Lest try this again with better sized pics.

So here is what the fans came out looking like

    DAMN IT! I missed one

I also sleeved some more- PCI cables

A shot of the DVD drives and the Res/pump

I do hate the way the top of the double IDE cable looks. Anyone have an idea what I can do with it?

    Yeah, ditch the IDE devices.

I think it looks like you've got one fan blowing out, and a bunch blowing in, if that's anything to go by.

I know there are a lot of fans of having positive pressure inside of your rig out there, but I dunno about it.

Otherwise, maybe you should just have gone with fractal design fans and saved yourself some paint.

Clocker- I'm using the IDE's so I can have more SATA headers available

Snee - Painting is fun , Honestly I had a bunch of Scyth S-Flex fans here, brand new in the box. Those fractal fans are snappy lookin' though.

Doesn't it make sense to have the air pushed out of the case instead of it being sucked in through dvd drive spaces and such? Please elaborate.

Far as I know, you get better cooling* with negative pressure.

With too much positive pressure the air can act as an insulator**, I reckon.

The good thing about it is that air gets pushed out of drives and stuff, which means less dust buildup, they say.

My old build is a shuttle with a push-pull setup sandwiching the radiator, that has crazy negative pressure. The weird thing is that I don't get much dust settling in there, somehow. Probably cos the whole thing is like a wind tunnel or something. Sounds like one too

*Not as much of a point with a wc setup, though
**And it looks like you might get a lot of that, depending on how much air the sole fan at the back can push

I'm going to read up more on the pressure. What you're saying makes sense, Hmmmm.

OK so I've been busy but I managed to get going on the Idea I had for using the stock cooler for my GTX 260 along with the Swiftech MCW60 GPU block. I had some doubts at first but now I'm glad I tried

First I removed the Enzotech copper heatsinks I had installed previously. May they rest in peace

    Next I hacked it up!!

I had to remove the newly cut fins one at a time as not to ben the rest of them. Needless to say it was tedious as hell.

I also had to cut two holes for the tubing to pass through.

Not my best work. I should have used a sanding bit. Not too shabby I don't think but I know I could have done better.

I did even them out a bit but my camera battery died so i have no final product pics yet, sorry.

Another mistake I made was cutting the last heatpipe thinking I was going to remove it as well.

I am going to try and solder a new piece of copper tubing there and patch it as I think it will help a little bit in the long run.

Here is what it looks like with the Swiftech

this corner gave me the most trouble

I have since cleaned up the cuts there and on the side of the fins using a dremmel cutting wheel and "shaving" each fin on both sides to get it to look original.

    Another "fitting" pic

So i assembled the pieces to see what it is going to look like somewhat.

    Looks like its fitting nicely.

Snap the top on and here's what we have now

As I said My camera battery died so i will take some better shots in a few hours. Hope you guys like it

IMO, any talk of "pressure" -either positive or negative- in a computer case is just wishful thinking.
PC fans are not capable of creating that kind of airflow and PC cases are too riddled with holes and gaps to hold pressure even if it were to appear.

Those are entirely too cool to be consigned to a box.

Don't bother, once cut, the heatpipe is dead.
They contain a wick and a thermal material (usually ether, IIRC) and with the ether gone and the wick cut, there is no "patching" that will return functionality.
It's dead, you killed it, deal.
