Your HDD setup is still one of my all time favs dude. I always wanted to try and make one but I never got the opportunity. I see your sunbeam fan controller there. How is it mounted. is it internal?

I am prob going to use mine in this build but the LED's are too bright for my liking. I think I'm just going to bend them upwards so they illuminate the res some more. I don't have the balls to cut them out but I can't have them beaming out of the front of the case either. If I could find a way to get it internal but accesable I would jump at the idea.

How much you want for the G5 case man? I may be interested.

EDIT: I know I asked you before but for the life of me I can't find the answer. You had that "Russian Sub clock" what was it called again? The wife is asking what i want for Xmas and refused to get me any computer parts.

The LEDs in my Sunbeam weren't soldered or anything, I just pulled them out.
The whole thing is just held on the plexi with the nuts on the rheostat shafts.

The G5 case is a (kinda) interesting story.
It's from a Hurricane Katrina insurance claim and when he settled the claim Apple sent him a complete G5 computer...all in pieces.
Realizing that the original aluminum case wasn't damaged by the water, he stripped it out and rebuilt it, leaving the new case untouched.
That's what I bought...still has the factory protective plastic cling sheets on it.
    It's literally never been used.
I bought a new Lian-li motherboard/backplane to do the conversion- that seemed to be the method of choice for the mods I'd seen.
I paid $250 for the case + shipping.

It's probably one of the nicest cases I've ever seen which is why I was hesitant to hack away on it till I'd really figured out a good plan.
Bit-tech has a number of quality mod threads featuring the G5 if you want to see what's involved.

PM me if you're still interested...we could work something out.

I am gonna go looking around and check it out. Your sunbeam is mounted on plexi!? mine is right on a pcb with some foam to insulate the bottom. Also my LED's are soldered so I will have to make a new faceplate so there aren't'y unneeded holes. pics later tonight I think.

    You misunderstand.
I removed the Sunbeam faceplate and drilled the plexi facia for just the rheostat shafts. I too have the PCB w/foam but the whole thing is now hanging on the shafts instead of being supported by the faceplate/box it came with.

Since the plexi is thicker than the stock metal faceplate, I had to get creative when I drilled the holes but that's another story.

That 800D has made me want a new case, seeing that black interior and the cable routing options in action, so to speak, made me think I've been missing something. Probably getting a Raven RV01 instead, though, in a week or two.

Clocker- Ahhh I see i did the same thing with the aluminum faceplates from my tjo7. i just drilled out another one without the LED holes. Also the LED's DO come right out. i thought they were soldered in to a resistor. Waay easies now.

Snee- Honestly this is the easiest case Iv'e ever worked with. Saves so much time not making Mobo Holes.

OK so I've been able to put some more time in with the rig. Here is the final setup/routing, and I use the word Final very loosely as Xmas is upon us and I'm going to get some new SSD's Shirley along with another side project maybe. but thats in the works

    On to the pics

The new tube routing, Looks waay better IMHO

The front with the res and Sunbeam controller sans LED's

My Custom video card cooler which I absolutly LOVE

Closeup of my apogee GTZ painted white with Bitspower fittings on her

    S'more shots of Bitspower fittings

Shots of her buttoned up....for now

Well I already see some thing I want to touch up and will be working on when I have time but as I mentioned earlied Xmas is upon us and time is tight. Hope you guys like it. as always thanks to all who contributed and I am always open to advice.

Still ordered the Raven, though :p

May be here as soon as tomorrow.

Pretty excited about it, even though the cutouts for cables are said to be less than optimal.

Also getting some Nexus Damptek and a new Zalman MFC-1 plus for it, as well as yet another graphics card and one or two other bits.

Still gonna cool it with air, though, like Jeebus intended.
