box error

I got error when I seed packs where is more than 1000 files. error too many open files. I have debian 4.0 and utorrent 1.8.0 use kimisufi reloaded 08 ovh

why don't you use rtorrent on debian? much better

As root edit the file /etc/security/limits.conf and append the line
Code:

<your username> hard nofile 8192


to increase the limit from 1024 to 8192. You will have to logout and login again to make the new setting work. Verify that it is set correctly with ulimit -n (as user).
