    do i need a dvi to use a lcd monitor? i have a gforce fx 5200, and i don't think it has a dvi. would i be able to use a lcd monitor?

    As I understand things, most LCD monitors still have 15pin HDD connectors and the better ones also have DVI connectors, but there are a few top end models that only have DVI connectors.

    As long as you are careful what you buy you should not have any problems, but you won't get the efficiency of DVI.

    Note: It appears that there are two flavours of DVI, namely DVI-I and DVI-D, but I have no idea what the difference is between them.

    wat is dvi and wat does it do? i know it enables the guy to add a second monitor the comp, but how does it help lcd performance?
