Thread: Alienware Area-51 m15x

  1. #1
I just bought this laptop off of ebay. It is brand new and is still in its box and original packaging. I put a bid of $2600 on it even though the Buy It Now price was $3600. Surprisingly, I actually won the auction!
I paid $2650 (including shipping) for this $4747 laptop. I just built it on Alienwares website and that's the price it came to. I here some people say that alienware is overpriced a lot. But, do you think at the price I paid I got a GREAT deal or do you think I still paid too much for what I got?

1.A 15 inch screen is too small for a gaming laptop
2.It's going to run really hot
    3.I'm jealous

It's engraved with someone else's name though

The name plate is VERY easy to remove. Only 4 screws holding it on.

I am trying to decide if I should keep it or resell it and make at least a $500 profit and most likely more and maybe look for another laptop just as powerful at around $2500.

aren't those turbo memory things just built-in devices for windows ready boost? (windows vista)
If that's the case then I don't think it will work in xp unless someone releases a readyboost equivalent for xp.
