This is a forum, you are not texting Britney to go hang out at the mall.There is no need for expediency.
FST is already bad enough without an influx of faux illiterates to make life more miserable.

"et al" is an abbreviation for "et alia", which is itself an abbreviation.

So "et al" is an abbreviation of an abbreviation.
