You have obviously put a lot of work into this and it is to your credit.
However have you ever noticed that forums with a bright background are much more successful than dark ones. The fact is your page looks really stylish, however normal human psychology will stop people using it.
There is a very simple reason for this .... we grow up writing with a dark colour on a piece of white paper. Anything else goes against the grain and we find it oppressive.
So if style is more important than content then leave it how it is and be proud of what you have done. However if you want people to actually join in then a radical re-think is in order.
