I invented a lovely sandwich the other day! Grilled halloumi with fried chestnut mushrooms, sunblush tomatoes and garlic mayonnaise in a toasted white sarnie. That is, my OH really invented it but I cooked it

Exactly, appraisals are part of their job. To get the staff to appraise one and other really is appalling. Fair do's maybe feedback to the person's manager if someone did something really well and you want their boss to know about it. However that's a totally different barrel of frogs.
