A built in 'HP webcam'. Is there a generic application that can make full use of its functions (ie take pictures, record video)? Right now I can use it through msn and skype, but those just feed video to other people.

My WinXP has "Scanner and Camera Wizard". I used to use that to take pictures with my webcam before I used a better program.
Can't you also record a high quality video of yourself and take a good still frame from it?
