1) I like my files bunched up and organised for easy navigation, which StyleXP pretty much does.Originally posted by ricochet@7 September 2003 - 20:28

2) I like to take advantage of any new updates (should they happen)
3) ThemeXP is designed to cater for StyleXP rather than the Lightwave patch - True that they both go down the same path, but it could be that problems happen down the line and only StyleXP is updated (Happen with Trillian and the MSN network recently)
3) StyleXP can do logins in the same program - You need a second thing (e.g. Logon Loader) to do the same with the Lightstar patch
4) Habit
5) lightstar does use system resources - If it didn't, you wouldn't be seeing anything at all on the screen![]()
Both these releases have there good and bad ...style xp uses less resources by far while window Blinds uses more resources and has a good variety of "skins" available...go for the full package called" object desktop" which is good if u want to use both at the same time...albiet u cant use wskinxp(wb's) with stylexp
i have it do you want to download it? i can give you my ip add so you can get from www file share pro porgram
CHECK this
You don't absolutely need Style XP from TGTSoft to use visual styles other than Windows XP (Luna), even though I recommend it! You can if you want use the NEW freeware UXTHEME.DLL multi-patcher and be ready to go in no time! I have tested this program on Windows XP and Windows XP SP1 with complete success. It will, I have been told, also flawlessly install on Windows 2003 Server.
This is one of the oldest arguements next to "coke vs. pepsi".![]()
Everyone is clearly going to have his/her own personal matter of choice. My advice, Style XP suits XP and 2003server systems far better due to using the OS' own native skinning engines and file structures rather than importing new schemes and file extensions. Now this is just purely my own opinion of course. As far as resources used- they are both negligible. WBv4.1 is said to actually use a tad bit less than StyleXP. Prior versions, perhaps more. I would not know to be truthful.
Both are readily (with keygens) available among P2P file sharers so take advantage of it and just test them out for yourself side-by-side or one at a time. Download a shitload of themes for either one and compare for yourself. If anything let your personal taste in windows themes make the decision for you. In a round-about manner, think of the comparison as when you decide on which console videogame system you are going to purchase. Rarely is the decision made on which is the beefier hardware. Of the people I talk with- it is all about the "games".
So let the themes themselves do the talking. I just so happen to be a StyleXP fan myself. I have my own personal reasons for it but these are just my own opinions- nothing more.
As far a "full version" of Style XP is concerned. All full versions are the trial versions converted once the hardware key has been activated.
