to view, it's ipconfig /all
to change, it's in network connections/internet protocols/ advanced/
Anything else is normally done through reg changes.
Or.....
go to run then type cmd
then type ipconfig
voila

I use it to release or refresh my IP address because I share my connection with my brother and by now I have been to lazy to set up a router.
And he just got a new comp with XP on it.

Edit: Forgot to mention it works great with the "ipconfig /release_all & /renew_all" command

its also very good for changing i.p address on cable broadband
I have got a static IP so it doesnt matter.
