When these first starting appearing almost 3 years ago, the number of dvd9's posted on usenet were....

pretty slim. Recodes (most of them pretty poor, and virtually all of them stripped of all the extras and decent audio (like DTS tracks). Now, there are tons of dvd9's, even old movies.

Still a bit lean on some of the re-releases ('double-dips'), and the bonus/extras Disc 2's of multi-disk sets. But there are a bit. It's gotten TONS better.

But I do LOTS of combing, and around 90+% of these are not to be found anywhere. Definitely not on Netflix, that's for sure.

Pretty slow posting, but I it's pretty rare to have to 'repair' any of the postings. In a lot of cases, recode versions are to be found, but like I said, devoid of any (usually) extras and 2nd disks.

Yeah finding dvd9s like these is hard indeed.

On torrents it is almost impossible. But some sites have them...

There have been quite a few decent, recent, releases lately (Kunk Fu Panda, Hellboy2, the new 08 Incredible Hulk) but like I said, all these are 2 Disk sets devoid of the 2nd Disk. BUT...

lots of 2 Disk Criterion sets from someone who, unfortunately, decides to post with extremely slim pars (at least two of the sets I've had to reach back into my OLD bag of tricks, and use some bits from servers other than Giganews), in order to grab the boated 400MB parts that were corrupted (even though they were posted on Giganews (!) but were corrupted d/l'ing from there, GO FIGURE).

The Lady Vanishes (new 2 Disk version I'd be trying to find for ages!), the 2 Disk Casablanca, and 2 Disk Young Mr. Lincoln (which I already had).

I go and look occasionally at my Giganew 'stats', and it averages around 350GB/month (almost jaw dropping), but my ultimate was actually some 3 or so years ago with over 450GB. I think I must have fallen off the wagon a bit then, was in dire need of 'down loaders anonymous' or something.

I have a decent machine that's set up to do CCE/recodes and burning... got to. This is an 'industrial operation'.
