File Organizer In Kl++

The File Organizer in KL++ is a great and very helpfull tool.
The idea is to have your download directory have a series of sub folders as shown here....


Once you have done that, then in KL++ go to" Options"
Then "KL++ Extension Options" and click "File Organizer"


Now click the "Add" button...

Enter the basics...
Title - Movies or Music etc...
Filter - *.avi / *.mpeg or *.mp3, it must include the "*."
Destination - C:/Download/Movies or C:/Download/Music etc...
Click "Save" and then "Add" the next.

Of course now when a file is completed it will move from your
"Download Folder" to the "Sub Folder" you've chosen automatically!!

Please Note:
The "Download Directory", example C:/Download/, must be the same as the one chosen in
"Kazaa Lite K++ Options" in "Traffic" under "Shared Folder / Folder For Downloaded Files".

i tried your tip following your instructions.
it didn' t work.
i divided my results between audio, video, pictures and softwares but when i finished downloading both video and audio i still found my files in my main shared directory.
it is true that i filtered multiple file types in my categories.
explain if i have to create a filter for each file type (i.e.: a filter for avi, another foe mpegs, etc.) or explain how do we have to separate different extensions: as in your example, i used "/" (it looked strange to me, usually a comma is used).

I believe each type needs a seperate filter.
Not sure if there is a value such as (,) for multiples at a time.

File Organizer

The File Organizer can copy or move files in "My Shared Folder".

Filter: Specifies the wildcard string in a common DOS format. "*" match zero or more of any character. "?" will match one of any character. ";" is separator for multiple wildcards in a single string.
ie:
*.mp3;*.wav -> match any file with mp3 or wav extension.
*Pearl Jam* -> match any file with the string "Pearl Jam" in the file name.
Chr?stina* -> match any file starting with "Chr", any character, "stina" in the file name
Action: Can be copy or move.
Destination: For copy action can be any valid path, but for move action it must be a folder within "My Shared Folder".
Play sound: Will play the specified audio file after applying the filter.
Run command: Will run the specified command line after applying the filter. You can use "%F" for the path and file name, "%P" for the path and "%FN" for the file name of the affected file.
Remember that most programs need file names in parameters between double quotes. (ie NOTEPAD.EXE "%F")

Filters are applied in order for example if you have the following filters:
1:Mp3 Files : *.mp3
2earl Jam: *Pearl Jam*
And you complete a file called "Pearl Jam - Do the evolution.mp3". Will apply "Mp3 files" filter but not "Pearl Jam" filter.
Only the first matching filter will be applied to the file.

This tool is what programmers used to call "brain damaged". In choosing a 'Move' destination, it allows you to range over the entire computer, but then only accepts a destination that is a child of the download folder.

It seems to me you should be able to use it to quarantine new downloads for review. Sorting files is easy enough to do by hand, as others have said.
