Its not the end of the world. You can resume the file ya know, just re-request it.

So do you paste all your requests into a .txt file or something? How do you keep track of the command to re-request something?

I have a few I would like to continue.

If you use the UP/DOWN arrows on your keyboard, you can scroll thru text that you've send to the channel. You should see your "requests" there. More importantly, I was pointing out that if you re-request the file, it will resume the download if you have your IRC setup properly.

Goto DCC----->then Options------>then the DCC tab

You want to set up the SEND and CHAT boxes so that they say "autoget file and minimize... if file exists, resume"

I've set those options as you have directed, and I see how the up/dn arrow keys work (for the current session of irc - since I had to restart irc, the previous requests are no longer there).

I don't enjoy these learning curves at all.....but, I'll struggle through them

IRC as a program is nothing special. Its barely a chat program, certainly not meant for filesharing. However the community of people there have access to amazing things. Keep at it, there is a steep learning curve compared to the "click and point" of klite, but you should see some benefits after you find good channels.

if you dont want to sit around..

type:

/timer 50 60 /msg.....

it will automatically request the packet 50 times, every 60 seconds.

c:/program files/Mirc/download

but its just in the download directory of the Mirc folder if you downloaded it somewhere else.
