    Hi, i just installed winxp sp1a on me system. n now its gone well slow! anyone know y or had da same problem? i used the full install file. help! pls!

    There have been reports of XP SP1 slowing down some user's systems. There is a patch to fix this, I just don't know which one. There are too many. Just download all the patches/updates from the Windows Update site until there 0 critical updates left. Also DL any of the 'Windows XP' updates you may need/want.

    is it worth gettin SP1, i used to install it but it made no difference?

    SP1 fixes ALOT of major bugs and vulnerabilites. It's a must for any XP user.

    i rebooted a few times n speeded up a bit. just the logon and boot up takes 4ever! i used 2 be able 2 do it less than 40 seconds but now takes 1min+.

    just go and get the rest of the Critical Updates. The fix patch should be in there.
    Then go defrag and all that...do a boot sector defrag if your prog. has that option.
