Where it talks about encoding just change that to vcd instead svcd If you just wanna make a vcd, If you want it to fit on one cd same principle apply as the editing part with virtual dub. just select a start and end point.
i used VirtualDub as it was on website and still the file wouldnt fit on 700 mb disk!!
did you try cutting the opening and the end credits??

ah this is a good tutorial...but i got a question.....why do you have to burn with LOWEST speed?

the lower the speed the better the quality of the burn unless you are looking for coasters

you can now make a dvd compatiable disk on one cd, kvcd and mvcd, some file sizes are less than the avis they came from but in most cases larger none the less they fit on a single disk, google those terms and youll find out how theyre used, youll need tmpgenc, which is what i use to encode, vital. Use virtual dub to strip the audio (file>save wav) then open tmpgenc using the wizard you want to create a pal vcd (unless you add the kvcd and mvcd templates which are preconfigured and ready to convert) and configure all the options, add movie and audio files, aspect ratio, etc (i use 4:3 625 line pal) then convert away, after its done (it will take approx 20 mins less the full length of the film, processor dependant really) open the 1-2gb file in tmpgenc again then via the mpeg tools split the file into two parts, now open nero and point to each to burn as a vcd, brief help...lol
