I do not know if what is the right music site to start for new BT members. As mentioned, stm or would be easier for him to seed and upload.
filemp3 is quite easy to seed on but got not a massive selection
Baby On The Way OMFG !
Please don't lead him down the wrong path -_-Originally Posted by Brenya
1) You don't want to make a lot of accounts at a ton of different sites. Pick a few sites that you'll use, and be active in. You'll spread yourself too thin if you try to participate in too many sites.
2) You don't need ratio proofs to go somewhere. God knows I didn't use proofs, yet alone request many invites (applied for one invite, requested MySpleen). Just participate in the trackers to which you're already a member, and show people that you're a good user. Hang out in IRC, participate in the forums, and keep a healthy ratio.
3) If/when you do become a member of a harder-to-get-into site, that doesn't mean you need to focus on it, and do anything you can to get invites to it. And that's because you want to STAY AWAY FROM TRADING. Trust me, it's not the way to go The best trackers are the ones who you get invited to by people that know you (going back to #2)
Sooo yeah, don't listen to Brenya
I am a exsellent speller and I use grammer very good.
Agree on that. ^^^
Trading is not something you might not want to get into...
What.cd is not good for newbies, it's a pain in the ass to seed
STMusic is easier and don't need to upload to keep good ratio.
Torrent.bytes / revTT for scenne stuff
HDBits.ro for HD stuff
TVtorrents.ro for tv shows
TehConnection / PassThe Popcorn are amazing movie trackers
These are good options to start without worries. Enjoy
What.CD, while great, is not n00b oriented. STMusic, though greatly inferior in selection, is a superior starting choice for a music tracker. Of course, much of that content can also be found on general trackers where it is easy to seed as well as find a huge range of content, Demonoid being an excellent example. Of course there are others too, like Zamunda, RarBG, and 7Track. Of those already mentioned STMusic requires an invite, but should be easy to get. Demonoid usually does, but is sometimes open. The others are all usually open.
Porn trackers are also great for seeding, especially the two big ones (Empornium and PureTNA), though others aren't hard either. The easiest non-porn specialty tracker for seeding and finding interesting content is probably Cinemageddon. If you can't hack it there, you probably shouldn't torrent.
Otherwise, you might also want to look at some 0-day trackers if you like that sort of thing. Start out with something decent that has open registration like Ace Torrents, Bit Shock, or Nordic-T. Then you'll be positioned to get an invite to a better scene tracker like RevTT, TL, or IPT. Anything above that in the scene world isn't necessary for content sake, though there are of course higher level ones to pursue well down the road (SCC, SCT, GFT, FTN) if you like that type of tracker.
well, what was my first site, and i did just fine. should he waste his time with a mediocre site like stm? it's not worth to hang on to a site like that once you get what or waffles. imo.
Fair enough. But let's be real, most people who are new to torrenting are going to have a tough time there, and the tracker is pretty much sink or swim. And I doubt anybody would invite him based on a lack of experience, meaning he needs to read up encoding to pass the irc test. I suppose it can be done, but everybody I know who made it in that way was already really experienced at ripping and encoding. If he isn't, its a whole lot of extra work.
STM does suck by contrast. But as far as music trackers go, few are as painless to seed on, much less get invited to.
