How do you like that LG GSA 4040B?

I have been looking into getting exactly that model. Prices keep lowering.

Did you get it as a boxed unit or OEM?

I got it boxed from futershoppe canada very nice comes with Neo DVD and a copy of Power DVD too.... It had a $100.00 off and $100.00 for rebate so I'll pay 199.99 plus tax when all is said and done..

    Why mess with 4X?

Philips spearheaded the DVD+R forum into 8X DVD+R speeds back in July, but today, we get to see the first actual 8X DVD+R drive in action. Who wouldn’t want to burn 4.38GB of data in 8 minutes? Oh, and you can do it on 4X media too."

Well I guess the prices on the 4X model will go down as a result of this release."

Cool. I've been looking at that special from Future Shop too. It's been around for a few weeks now. I also have access to an OEM LG GSA 4040B drive for $179.00 Canadian without any rebates to worry about and I don't have to pay the tax on the total before rebate price.

Yes ok I read the add and sounds great, but I do get a little leary when companies use words like should instead of will burn on 4x dvd's as well. We'll keep an eye on that one....thanks
