utorrent help - prevent banning of a peer

on torrents with only a few seeders, how do i prevent the banning of a seeder due to the peer sending bad data? usually this seeder is the only one in the swarm with decent speed.

i don't quite understand these cmds:
bt.ban_ratio
bt.ban_threshold
an example using these cmds would help.
