GO TO THE FOLDERS YOU WANT TO SHARE LEFT CLICK-SHARE AND SECURITY-SHARE THIS FOLDER ON THE NETWORK + ALLOW NETWORK USES TO CHANGE MY FILES-APPLY-OK
DO THIS TO ALL THE FILES YOU WANT TO SHARE ON BOTH COMPUTERS
I AM ASSUMING YOU ARE USING WINXP

There's a networking guide in xp, it has the option of creating a config disk for networking that can be used on another OS such as ME, try the guide.
