You summed it up quite well in your last line there.
This was asking for spam. You might aswell have opened a thread asking for an invite to a forum where you would be flamed/spammed/trolled all day.
In fact this warrants

at least the last wheelmmods thread I saw, the OP was joking.
Please tell me this was a joke. You have as much of a chance of getting this as I do of someone PMing me and offering me a rabbit invite.
