Yeah, they really need to re-do their IRC system so it doesn't rely on on the website to get in to the main channels (and #scc-support is muted until the site is back up).

Ok first of all, v2 is not a new design, it's basically a complete recode of the entire site, a lot more work than just a new skin/design. And second, it's still down, not a host change, just a mysql issue.

That's there for a reason - we don't want non-members allowed into the channels for a multitude of reasons.

Anyways, the reason the support channel was muted was because you wouldn't believe how many people come into the support chan, skip over the topic and say that they can't login. It's fun to jeer sarcastically for the first 5 times, but after that gets a bit lame.
