I just read this on the front page of this very site and I found it lol worthy. It's ironic how some people join community trackers because they feel they are suppose to be safer than other trackers. Looks like they could be riskier in some cases. I wonder if those smaller community trackers are going to force people to use Vuze for a bit until utorrent get updated.

Did you even read the post before linking to it?

It talks about downloading communities formed on trackers, not community trackers.

The article talks about an exploit in privacy that the swarms from bt communities are pretty much the same thus being able to pinpoint targers easier. So thus, the smaller the community the more likely the same ip's are going to popup in a swarm. All I'm trying to point out is that joining a smaller community isn't neccessarily safer than joining a larger tracker.

No one is safe if they're already investigating you or the tracker. The reason smaller closed trackers are considered safer is that they're a smaller target than say a bigger private tracker like TL or SCT.

But it makes sense that if they start monitoring you they'd be able to see the same IP's in many of the swarms.

So instead of just sending data from one torrent that you shouldn't be downloading, you'll be sending random bits of data from other things you shouldn't be downloading either?
And if its dummy data, what purpose would one have to use it other then to cover up illegal activities, so using it would be a dead giveaway that you're doing something wrong.
How does that make it safer again?

Edit, I have enough traffic already, dont need more data being sent draining my cap
