I just installed WinXp, but i made a small partition to it, so everytime i try to install something it tries to go to c:/Program files/ , is there a registry key or something i can do to automatically say my XP that program files default folder is G:/Program files...

    Same happens with "My documents"!!!!

    THanks for any help

since xp uses the win2k my documents system....(since u can have multiusers), i dont think there is a way to do it, since you would always have AT LEAST 3 folders of different "users" (the All Users, your user, and the guest user)

Right click on my documents in the start menu, then go to properties , then select move and select where you want your documents stored.

or just use Tweak UI for XP, you can designate the default save/open folder for files, the default installation path, etc.

The above suggestion works, but actually just changes the location of your My Documents folder, you want
to change the Windows saves ur stuff too by default..
