    Run Win7 x64.
Latest build available is 7077 I think and the Release Candidate will be available in a few weeks.
Dual booting is a waste of time, IMO.

Either commit to the new OS or be a happy Luddite and run XP.
If you go XP, forget the new hardware, might as well search for a nice shiny P4 platform to go with it.

When (if?) you go 64 bit, get as much RAM as you can afford.
It's cheap , so why not?

    I just got 7077 (x 64) myself.
Haven't burned or installed it yet, probably in the next few days.

In the past 7 months or so using Win7 I haven't had a single major issue...it runs as well as any OS I've ever used.

Thanks guys for the input. I was leaning to Win7 64 but was a bit worried that it's not final.

Been told by some that win7 is running lean right now, but it will get bloated once they implement all the security features - not sure if that is true or not.

    I don't believe it is.
I haven't seen any big differences in size, RAM usage, etc. over the last 4 releases I've run.
