eff won the internets.
In other news, the plane that flew into the IRS building yesterday here in Austin is only three blocks from my house. The roads around here were all jacked up yesterday (and probably still are, I just haven't left the house yet today).
To make matters worse, yesterday afternoon I took a walk to go see how it all looked. When I got back to my house, a copper pipe under my sink had become detached and water was spraying out at full force. My entire bathroom, closet, vanity area, and bedroom were completely
flooded. I got the water turned off after scrambling around to find the cutoff. I didn't know where it was yet since I just moved in. Afterward, I called a plumber to come repair the pipe. I spent the next few hours waiting for him and soaking up water with all my towels, cycling them in and out of the dryer.
The carpet guy came out yesterday as well and ripped up all the carpet (I just had laid 6 weeks ago). He says the carpet is likely salvageable but the pad all needs to be replaced. He put three big blowers and a dehumidifier in those rooms to dry the carpet and foundation under the bathroom tile; all of which needed to run all night, thus I slept on the couch.
Now I'm sitting around waiting on him to get to the house.
