works fine for me on an Athlon XP + Nforce 2 + 512mb + Radeon 9200 Pro 128mb + Catalyst 3.7.Originally posted by McNutter@26 September 2003 - 18:15
Yep got DirectX 9.0b. Installed the standard 3.7 drivers but still no joy. Halo appears to be a typical Micro$haft product - crap.
i'm guessing the error lies somewhere between your keyboard and your chair...![]()
...why do you assume that its a bad game just because it's not working for you? I don't know why i'm even suggesting help for someone who actually believes microsoft products are crap![]()
Have you had any similar error messages with any other games on your system (ever).
No.
Other people have had the same problem so it isn't unique. Everything is freshly installed & up to date on my PC so the problem is with the game not my rig. If it worked on your cheap ass card then lucky you. Thankfully you two never helped - your advice would be as useful as a chocolate tea pot I'm sure.
what a cop-out. if there were any more differences between our systems besides my graphics card from the same company being one generation older (and apparently my PC being set up properly since it runs everything i throw at it), you'd prolly be insulting those too... RATHER THAN FIGURING THE PROBLEM OUT AND FIXING IT BECAUSE YOU'RE TOO LAZY TO DO THAT AND IT'S EASIER TO JUST COMPLAIN ABOUT MICROSOFT AND THE PRICE OF MY GRAPHICS CARD.Originally posted by McNutter@27 September 2003 - 00:03

you crybaby.
now go do something constructive, like fix your PC so that it'll run Halo. for instance, you said your graphics card is "clocked." what does that mean? OVERclocked? if so, that could easily cause problems in certain games but not in others.
OK clearly your not listening so I'll spell it out for you. OTHER PEOPLE WITH ATI AND NVIDIA GRAPHICS CARDS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. Check the alt.binaries.comp newsgroup for examples. If the game doesn't even start then stability doesn't enter in the equation and my PC is totally stable by the way.
Dam Micro$haft fanboys everywhere these days![]()
I doubt its a problem with just ATI cards, the team worked close with nvidia and ATI to get the game working on pc. Probably a similiar configuration / software problem... Do the following so i can see your full pc stats:
Go to DXDIAG (explanation already showed). Click save all information. Open the file you saved it to, and copy&paste (here) all the stuff up to

Sound Devices

they probley have a patch in a few day
when it comes out!
so just wait
@3RA1N1AC
thats what I thought too, he was having a conflick with something to the video card
he did to sup it up, he said something like
Omega drivers with the 9800 hack
doesn't sound like the offical drivers, like a "upgread maybe"
but I don't have that card @ not gonna look into it, could care less, I tried to help already
Open the lowest numbered with winrar and you will get a bin and a cue.Originally posted by L0rD_S0tH@27 September 2003 - 00:37
I got it off suprnova. Or should I say I will have it. I got about 10 min left. Getting some awesome speeds, too. Took a whole 4 hours to get it. Can't wait to bust out!
well, i got it, now just one quickie:
In the NFO file it says to extract and burn the cue but how do I extract it to burn it or mount it on alcohol 120%?
it is a bunch of Halo_Combat_Evolved-FLT_flt-halo.001 through .0048 and a Halo_Combat_Evolved-FLT_flt-halo.sfv file. thanks for any help.
Then burn or mount as you wish.
Is there any chance some people could start seeding the torrent again, i'm stuck on the classic 98% mark. ho hum![]()
