i was download realone player from kazaa, till i got hit by the virus that infeted the file.... i found out i had the viurs when the program didn't start,

Norton doesn't work 'internal file error'
Ive read all those articles on how to remove it but its still alive...

Ive installed AGV, (updated) everytime i hightlight something AVG picks up that has infected file Pinfi, Its uncleable,

If anybody knows how to remove this file or have a good removable tool let me know , please

Pays to have real time monitoring running all the time with anti-virus programs...especially when using the KAZAA NETWORK..home of all the screechy mp3's,false files and every virus known to man

Click Start, and then click Run. (The Run dialog box appears.)
Type regedit, and then click OK. (The Registry Editor opens.)
Navigate to the key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer


In the right pane, delete the value: PINF
Exit the Registry Editor.


i did this, and i also clean out some out the main files that wuz in the temp folder, i guess its removed ::crosses finger::

The virus, when it first infected, probably did a knock-out punch on Norton by deleting/corrupting its EXEs or data files. It's getting to be a common habit for the more 'successful' viruses, as it makes their lifetime a little longer although their appearance is a LOT more obvious...

Uninstall Norton. Delete the virus. Install Norton again.

Most important thing of a virusscanner is keeping it updated. If your Norton was up-to-date, then it would have detected the pinfi in teh first place.
