They are both routers, one has a built in modem, which is where the price difference comes in.

Shit sorry thats what I mean, I meant modem not router in the last sentence. :">
Does it make any difference if I buy the cheaper one and plug it into my modem or if I go with the all in one?
Thanks Benno

Ok thanks Livy,
so I wont notice any slowdowns or other complications when I use the cheaper one in combination with my old modem?

Let's clarify things.
With the modem/router, you don't need a separate modem.
With a router (on it's own) you DO need a separate modem.
But the modem part (whether it is part of the router or separate from it) has to be an ADSL modem.
And if you only want to connect a single pc, you don't need a router, just a modem.
Sorry if I seem to be restating things, but without the specifications of your existing equipment, I thought it better to make things absolutely clear.

I have a ADSL modem now but I want to share my connection for 2 PC, and I thought the easiest thing would be a router.
So atm Im just not sure wheter it is worse to combinate a router with a modem compared to have an all in one.

If your adsl modem has an ethernet connection (in addition to the adsl connection), then adding an external router is fine, you can even just use it as a network hub at times when you don't want an internet connection.
But if your adsl modem only has a usb connection, you won't be able to connect an external router, in which case you would be better advised to get a combined modem/router such as this which 4play mentioned earlier. But that might be a good one to get anyway, it is a good bit cheaper than the Netgear router, and less than half the price of the Netgear modem/router.

I have a ethernet connection. Due to the fact that I'm from Austria I cant order from ebuyer and I havent found such a cheap modem/router on austrian websites.
So I think I'll just go with the netgear router.
Thanks Benno
