Thread: Is It Copy Protection?

    Ok, here's the deal -

After downloading, I'm finding a lot of newly released tunes turn up on my media players as 22 seconds of music, it fades in at the start, fading out very quickly.

The file size is normal, and it's happening more and more, most recently on the new perfect circle album( also the new sting, david bowie, starsailor, kosheen albums). It doesn't happen with all files, my theory being that the problem ius a kind of copy-protection, and if the files are ripped with better quality software, it gets around this. I have a friend who believes that it's something to do with using Windows XP.

I would like to know if this is happening to anyone else, cos it's a bitch of a setback, and if anyone knows a way around it?

Also, we could be facing another hurdle to try and stop us sharing properly, and I want to know if the files that I am sharing are giving other people the same problems that I'm having.

    keep sharing!

It seems you're a victim of the great "fakes files plot"

Read all about it here: http://www.klboard.ath.cx/index.php?showtopic=49358
