    okay for some reason my windows xp starts up in classic mode...in other words..right befor windows xp is about to start up..i have to type in my username and password in a window and then click enter for windows to start...is there any way for me to go back to regular xp logon..? i have already tried going to start>control pannel>user accounts> then change it there...and another thing i dont have any passwords for both of my accounts but still i have to type in my account and hit enter to log in..please help...ty

    Start | Settings | Control Panel | User Accounts | Change the way users log on or off | Use the Welcome Screen.

    positive...ive done it 5times already...anyway to do it in regedit or something?

    I think there is something about the logon in regedit here:

    HKLM/software/windows NT/currentversion/winlogon

    If its not there check here:

    HKLM/software/windows/currentversion/winlogon

    there is a winlog but i dont know what to do with it..anyone know how to fix this problem???

    Go back to User Accounts and select your name. Then click "Remove my password." Do that for both the accounts that should take care of it.
