The router will connect to the net for you via your modem (btw, is your alcatel modem a broadband modem?)

You have a problem, the router has to go between the modem and your network, but I am unaware of any routers which can talk to a USB modem. So if i had a Linksys Router(please could you point to a good model!

so i get this router plug it up to my computers.And then i will just be able to start one of them up and connect to the net with out dialn up?
