    Freeware Rocks
7-Zip is a file archiver with a high compression ratio. The program supports 7z, ZIP, RAR, CAB, GZIP, BZIP2, and TAR formats. Compression ratio in the new 7z format is 30-50% better than ratio in ZIP format. It also compresses to ZIP 2-10% better than PKZip and WinZip. It has an additional powerful command line version and FAR Manager support.

    Download 7-Zip 3.11

everything on the k-lite K++ website is compressed with this now, you might have noticed the filesizes are a little smaller, for those anally-retentive fact fans

Thanks just updated my freeware basics folders. For paying customers. Few & far between, though they are.

BTW does anyone think this is better than WinRAR? I don't just wondering what others think. Thanks.

Ok upside, i tested it and got this...

    Compressed results for 82kb

    Winrar: 24kb

    7z: 20kb

    Compressed results for 1.79mb

    Winrar: 1.57mb

    7z: 1.37mb

    Downsid...
    • Bad GUI
    • You need 7z software to open 7z compressed file
    • Slow, so very slow
