Apparently he's been chased for over 30 years, but fled to France to avoid arrest. I find it interesting that the French felt no motivation to capture him, but now he moved to Switzerland and got arrested.

I take it you are talking about the French.
You know he had French citizenship so the French government had a perfect right to deny extradition on the US warrant but he had an international warrant against him since 2005.![Dabs](//i.filesharingtalk.com/smilies/dabs.gif)
Of course it's all bollocks though since the victim of the crime doesn't even want it pursued.
