Lord Soth, you did not post the correct page. Click the link that says "view" and copy the URL of the page with the single score sheet.
You talking about this page?

Aquamark Score [/b][/quote]
Yes, very nice. The cool thing about that page is that it shows your whole system specs. It helps up readers to better understand your result. B)

Also Lord Soth, I noted that your CPU is clocked over 3 GHz but your CPU score is less than mine.

What really gets me is the fact that you have such a powerful CPU, and not a very powerful GPU at all. What are your upgrade plans and when?

What is your CPU default clock?

hmmmm.....I actually chose not to overclock my cpu, (don't think I know enuff to do it right, which would probably explain why my CPU score is low, I'm just studying stuff on the net and trying learn how) but you're right, my FSB was still overclocked, so I went back into my bios and manually put it back to 2.8GHz. I guess when you press the "return to default" button (F5) in my bios it resets everything but my FSB. LOL

I plan on upgrading my GPU as soon as I can. Like I said I really cant afford to at the mo, unfortunately (school isn't cheap ). My goal is to upgrade to the radeon 9600 XT within 6 months, but who knows how that'll pan out.

*edit*
I redid the aquamark3 becnhmark after reseting my CPU and I see my cpu score did, in fact, improve.

New Score

Lord Soth,

You did not enter the right URL for the newer score.

i dont have anything against ocing, but the thing is WHY?????, why not buy a better g-card or proccesser, cuz if u dont kno wat ur doing u could end up messing iit up

I don't understand what you guys are trying to say.

I overclock my card to what I know is safe, and through using all important logic.

I know what my memory can take and what it cannot. I know what my core can take and what it cannot.

I learn about things before I attempt them. Just like before I take a lady to bed, I like to know what (who) else has been up her skirt.

I save money by overclocking. I paid $140 US for my Radeon 9500 non pro card and it scores higher than its $200 dollar brother at its own speeds. For one thing, I do not get any artifacting at those speeds I tried. I learned that the memory clock cannot go any higher than 280 MHz without errors. Now I am finding the core to be able to handle up to and over 360 MHz. That might be because of the new Catalyst 3.8 Omega driver set. I scored when I got the same RAM chips that are in the Radeon 9500 pro, so I know it can easily do its speeds.

The reason why I got the card I got is because I knew it was possible to do what I did, and the risk I took paid off. Taking chances is something you should learn to do. It makes you feel alive.

If you don't know what youre doing, then don't play.

simple answer:

computer geek

Plain and simple, only people who like to push there systems are interested in OCing. Some people can get P4 3.2GHz processor and they'll still overclock it. In fact they'll get it just to see how far they can push it. I am very comfortable OCing my vid card, like adamp2p mentioned, I studied and learned everything I could before doing it and even then I took every precaution to make sure i didn't screw things up.

I'm looking into to OCing my CPU, as you can see from my post above I hadn't quite figured out what I was doing yet so I went back to my stock speed. The key is that I never pushed my CPU too hard so I, really didn't have to worry about blowing it. On top of that I monitored it very closely to ensure it did not overheat, or act up. I realize I don't know what I'm doing yet, and I'll not attempt again until I learn. Besides the best way to learn anything is through trial and error. The key is to make sure the "errors" aren't going to be detrimental. Moderation is the key.....I think.
