You download either an ABX program or a plugin (I know they exist for foobar and winamp). You pick a FLAC and a V0 file of the same song. It then gives you a window with a button for A, B, and X. Either A or B is the MP3, and the other is FLAC. X is also either the MP3 or the FLAC. You can listen to small clips of A, B, and X multiple times, and then you choose whether the A clip or the B clip is the same file as the X clip. You repeat this (generally either 16 or 25 times) and you'll receive a result (say, 13/25), along with its statistical relevance. For example, if you get 16/25 it's much more likely due to random luck than if you got 23/25.
