Anyone have any advice on a make or brand for the backyard mechanic ?
I have a "check engine light " on the daughters van and was wondering what it was . I'v seen on my own car but it was a simple google and I tightened the gas cap , problem solved . I don't want to disconnect the battery and reset as that does n't solve the issue .
Any advice on a OBD would be greatly appreciated , that way I could at least distinguish between a simple pollution control problem or some thing major ?

Plymouth Voyager 1998 . Not flashing but check engine light is on . I'm not the mechanic my father inlaw is , but the onboard computer shit gives him fits . Give him two trannies to re and re, no problem . That's transmissions not chick's with dick by the way .
