The way things were done, yes... to a degree. There was a sense of anonymity, however a deep feeling of loyalty that brought people together there. For most, it wasn't just a tracker, but a place to commune (like many other forums about). If you were to close any forum down that had members lasting 4yrs or so, there definitely is a big void left. There will always be something else to give the time to, but doesn't mean its the same or that it will capture the atmosphere of a golden time passed.

we're all sorta in limbo right now. just waiting for some official word. squizzle posted a couple pages back saying he'd announce something shortly.
there are definitely some real members in this thread whose avatars i recognize. i was a lurker mostly though, but a lurker who can prove he was a member all the same. anyone who was a member there should be able to prove that they were one way or another.
we just have to wait and see what really is going on, or find out what happened at the very least.

So Wheelmods Is gone for good, Pity... It's sad to see any tracker go down, but that Is the way with things.

I can see the point of It being a great community, coming together talking, making new friends.
Over a long period people get accustomed to things of It's like, but change happens. But as fast as Wheelmods went down It would have put my head Into a spin, known It was the only tracker I'd ever been on.
But as I already said, before It got edited...If most of the exwheelies didn't have the foresight to look beyond Wheelmods, then that's your problem.
Just a query tho: Of all the exwheelies who signed up for FST In the last few days, why didn't you look or signup for a few other trackers at least, I see the point of community, coming together.
Or Is It just the case no one foreseen this coming.
There Is umpteen trackers out there for exwheelies, some with a couple of torrents others with hundreds of thousands. The BitTorrent Sites Open for Signup thread, It's what that's there for.

Yep....knowing what happened would be a start.
I can only think of 3 reasons to close a successful site;
1) It was forcibly shut down by an agency
2) It became too dangerous to leave it open (security compromised)
3) It wasn't funding itself anymore
The first is scary, the second is hopefully temporary and the third is fixable too.
I can see some opinions are "stop crying....move on....it's only a tracker".
You will never see an opinion like that from anyone who was actually a member and you'll never fully appreciate why unless you were a member.
One small example....how many trackers have you ever seen where there was permanent free leech and the ratio system was practically gone because the userbase was just that good at sharing ?
If you could describe your torrenting utopia....without even knowing you would be describing uk-t.

Consider that you had to be a member to be able to recognise the usernames and avatars of the displaced members in the first place.
Actually it would, the invite system on Demonoid is intended for use in a different way, it is simply to lessen the drain on resources that open registration takes.

I will pretend that i understood what you said ..Does mean for one and doesn't for another one. If some place was one-stop point of particular community for years, any attempt to recover it at different place after dismiss will trow out part of members. And probably these guys are rather contributing, but will skip it.
But any attempt does worth another part.
If its just about a forum and community then y cant anyone just create a god damn forum and give access to all the emo community members .. this way the community that you guys have been used to for 4 fucking glorious years will be saved rite?
People who actually are apart of community dont let it die off just because thier favourite meeting place isnt there anymore .. you can still use Gtalk,MSN etc for communicating with them if you really want to .. So please stop with all those RIP messages and will i get invited to FSC posts
