Hello, I've been a usenet junkie for over 8 years. Before that I used a filesharing app called Hotline, old timers will remember. Hotline was killed off by FTP I think. Although I've used usenet for a long time, the nzb file included with many threads, was just one of those neusence files that I would have to trash along with the flv file. If I could only have the time back that I spent searching through newsgroups for the perfect file. Then, NZB WOW!!!
I'm also exclusivly Mac, I'm a graphic designer by trade so.. Well, mac users know. I'm on my iPhone right now. I have designed an unattended pipeline that works like this, I find an nzb for let's say "file X" I download it to my iPhone, I can be anywhere, anytime, with any signal, 3G, Edge, Wifi, It doesn't matter. I email said nzb, zipped or not, to a desktop watched folder. My usenet app downloads the parts, checks, repairs, assembles, blah blah. The finished file is dropped into a "completed" folder. Guess what? This is another watched folder, the file is converted into a disk image and burned to DVD. When I get home, my burners tray is open, as if holding out it's hand. In the tray is a finished DVD, ready for my DVD player, or to mount on my desktop. Take that Netflix. (P.S. I do not, nor do I condone illegally attaining digital data.) long live NZB!!
