Hi im a complete newbie to torrents and am excited about the download prospects but worried about the rules.
Im all for give and take but why does
the torrent system not work like limewire,Ares etc. an Upload/Download ratio
is vital here? Why?
Im sure there a good reason but im too much of a rookie to get it! Seems I have to go slow at first.Can't jump in and download a bunch.Is communism getting a revival? Im a bit confused and bemused.

First of all, the "torrent system" doesn't enforce any ratios - it's private trackers that do, and to make sure everyone shares back.
